Situated in the historic Downtown Crossing, 101 Arch Street houses state-of-the-art office and retail space to some of Boston’s most successful companies.

The original 1873 brick-and-beam Harvard Building is a 21-story office tower and recently underwent renovations to introduce modern day furnishings while honouring the building’s original features. From polished granite, marble interiors and floor to ceiling windows, the office space offered tenants an urban style interior with exceptionally high standards.  

Their mission to build a healthy working environment offering occupants long-term value led to the building’s investment into a fitness center, along with other amenities to appeal to modern-day workers and consumers.

The client opted for our flush-fronted Unity Full Height range to provide optimal privacy for its guests. The satin anodised aluminium flip indicator bolts offer an emergency release mechanism, which would enable access to the locked stalls without damaging the lock or having to remove the door in the event of an emergency.

Unity Full Height’s pedestals are set back on pilasters to give the stalls their floating fronts, while the rise and fall butt hinges would allow the doors to fall shut even when vacant, to maintain the room’s clean design.

To ensure accessibility and inclusivity for all users, enlarged stalls with outward opening doors were specified for the shower facilities. Additional standard sized stalls also ran adjacent to these to help maintain the steady flow of usage the rooms were set to receive throughout the day.

The stalls were specified in Solid Grade Laminate (SGL). SGL boasts durable, water and bacteria resistant characteristics that can withstand the challenges of wet environments without the worry of the material being compromised over time. Thanks to its non-porous, smooth surface, clean and hygienic shower spaces would be easily maintained, saving the facilities staff time and effort when cleaning.

Specified in our ‘Soft Oak’ wood effect laminate finish, the shower stalls complemented the meticulous design of the rooms, blending with the building’s original features to create a welcoming environment.
